excerpts

With my thoughts running amok, my cheeks began to feel warm, betraying me. The heat
spread from one side to the other quickly, giving my face a nice rosy glow.
He chuckled and I almost came apart. Did this man have any idea what that one small
sound did to a girl? I bet he did, he had to, given his current shit-eating  grin. There was no way that he couldn’t know. Guys like him knew they were walking fuck-me advertisements.

“Careful. It’s a little too soon to fall for me.” He smiled, dimples and all, and I nearly
lost it again. Dimples! I was in serious trouble already and I hadn’t been out
of the loony bin for an hour yet. ''Not  likely,” I replied. I righted myself and leaned back casually. “Are you planning on being here long?”

He quickly scanned my face, and then returned his focus to the book in his hands.
“Not sure. Ask me again in an hour.”

Argh! Infuriating and sexy as hell? Great combo. My head told me to walk away, but my
traitorous body was trying to convince me to inch closer to him. With a quick
scoot, I was mere inches from him, our legs nearly touching.

“Whatcha  reading?” I tried to get a look at the book, but he closed it before I could
figure out what it was.

“Homer.”

 “Simpson?”

A slow grin spread across his face. “As in The Odyssey. Greek epic poem…ring any
bells?”  “No. The only Homer I know is married to a woman with a giant blue beehive.”

With a shake of his head, he opened his book once again. “Sheltered?”
His attitude was really starting to piss me off. “No. Unless you consider ten years
in the wacky shack as sheltered.” I had expected my words to have some sort of
impact. Nothing. He didn’t even flinch.

Dream Cast / Characters Bio

For Delia, I’d say Nina Dobrev, just because she has such and attitude and can pull it off. I didn’t think that before the “bad” Elena on TVD, but now...yeah, she could handle it, lol.

Delia:
20 years old
Born in Sunny Shores, SC
Has been locked away in Sunny Shores Psychiatric Hospital for 10 years.
Extremely saucy- her sharp tongue and quick wit have gotten her
into trouble more times than she can count.

Likes: the ocean, sleeping late, chocolate milkshakes, and dipping
her fries in a Wendy’s Frosty.

Dislikes: Creepy old dudes, pop music, salads (they’re the devil),
and people who lie.

Favorite quote: “I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone
can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.” - David Niven

Favorite Song: P!nk’s U + Ur Hand

For Liam...hmmm...that might be a little tougher. I’d have to say Steven Strait. He’s soooo gorgeous! I would literally gobble him up! LOL

Liam:

24 years old
Born in Georgia, currently resides in Sunny Shores, SC
Has a deep love for Homer’s The Odyssey and The Iliad. Not Homer Simpson.
Recently found himself in a sticky situation involving murder, lies, and plenty of betrayal.

Likes: Reading, walking the beach at night, anything with Al Pacino, a good pizza
filled with toppings, newfound love for The Simpsons, and his *special* coffee cup.

Dislikes: Being cooped up in the house, fighting, McDonald’s double cheeseburgers, and
doing laundry...unless Delia was there.

Favorite Quote: “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” - Nido Qubein

Favorite Song: My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark- Fall Out Boy

For Mike, there’s only one choice, lol. Samuel Larsen and those dreads...I mean.. WOW!  I’ve seen a lot of guys with dreads, but he would be perfect.

Mike:

28 years old
Family is from Sunny Shores, but he spent most of his youth in Southern California.
Is proud of his surf shack, even if he barely makes it by. He hopes to one day be
able to teach the next National Surfing Champion.

Likes: The smell of suntan lotion, motorcycles, Adam Lambert’s music, and playing
detective (even better if he gets to wear the trench coat!)

Dislikes: Scam artists, video games (what a waste of energy!), fast food, cheap shoppers,
and winter (no surfing!)

Favorite Quote: “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” - Theodore Roosevelt

Favorite Song: Adam Lambert’s Strut
For the minor characters, it would be a toss up. Probably want unknown actors, just to even it out.

Soundtrack

1) My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark- Fall Out Boy

2) Fire Starter- Demi Lovato

3) The Lazy Song- Bruno Mars

4) Grenade- Bruno Mars

5) Ooh La La- Britney Spears

As You Wish Review

My Guest Post Topic - How to make your characters believable

So you want to make your characters believable? Okay, let’s talk about it.

First,
when you are “designing” your character, can you see them in your mind? Do you
know what they look like, from the freckles on their noses to the point of their
chins? If not, that’s where we need to start. Characters need to be as real to
you as say, your spouse or your best friend. They should be living, breathing
entities in your mind. Every minute detail, from their appearance to their
personality, should be chosen and mapped. There is no such thing as an unneeded
detail. Even if you never mention certain attributes in your story, YOU, the
author, should still know it about your characters.

Second,
be careful when basing your characters on those you know in real life. We all do
it, at least once or twice in our lives, but be careful! What happens if you
kill off a character that was based on your best friend? He/she might
get a little offended at that. Taking certain personality traits from them and
incorporating them into your characters is okay. Just don’t tell the people you
snitched them from. Just easier that way.

Third,
have conversations with your characters. Yes, I know, this sounds pretty
schizophrenic, but trust me! What better way to really get to know them than to
sit down and ask them about their day? This allows you to get in tune with the
way their minds work, as well as learning to channel them with your own words.
To be on the safe side, try this when you’re alone. Wouldn’t want ya’ll getting
 locked away, now would we?

And
lastly, don’t be afraid to make them flawed. There are no perfect people in this
world, so why would there be in your story? How boring would life be if everyone
around us always said the right thing, wore the right clothes, or never did
anything wrong? It would be completely boring, right? Spice them up. Make them
snore! Really, just have fun with them. Do you love tattooed bad boys but could
never date one in real life? Well, here’s your chance to further romanticize
those sexy guys and fall in author-love with them! It’s about whatever you want
to do. Just remember, keep them real. Perfect doesn’t exist in the real world,
so how can it exist in the book world?

That’s all from me! Now please, keep in mind, these are just MY
personal opinions on making characters believable. My word is not gospel, it is
simply what has worked for me in the past. I hope they are helpful for you!

My Review  5 Stars

Burn OutBurn Out by Ruthi Kight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*** I receive an ARC copy of this book for an honest review ***

I'm so glad that I got to read this book it was amazing and I end up loving it.
This book was refreshing, I did not know what to expect when I started reading it. At first I kept asking myself what am I reading, because I couldn’t put the book down I read it in one day. I love the characters and how everything play out in this story. Love it how this story make you think that the characters are going a little crazy, when is totally the other way around.
I love the character of Delia, ten years ago she when through a horrible experience that cost her to hide, now Delia have to go back to the world that she did not know anymore, and now she have to figure out how to live in the town that no one wants to know nothing about her, and are afraid of her, her family is gone, so she is all by herself in the world. I love her attitude, love it how she doesn’t give a rat ass about what the people in town think of her. Love it how she held her head up high after her being through so much, and how she is trying to put her life back on tracks.
Love the character of Liam now what can I say about him, Liam has heard the story heard the rumors and know that he should stay away. but he doesn’t I love how he start to care for Delia, and how he wants to be there for her no matter what anybody say, he also has his own deamonds that he needs to deal with. I love his attitude and the way he always trying to seduce Delia and how charming he is.
Can’t say more because I don’t want spoil the book. But I love how this story has its mystery and how every time I though I had the book figure out, it just through me a curve ball and it twist everything around. I love a book that has its twist I really enjoy this book and I recommend that you get to read it and love it as much as I did.
I want to thank Author Ruthi Kight for introducing me to this great story and this awesome characters can’t wait to read more of her books.

Foreign, or rather unfamiliar, would be the word I would use to
describe how I felt.

Faintly, I could hear the glimmer of voices surrounding me in this
dark haze, caressing my ears like skin against silk. I felt like I was in a
cocoon of sorts, protectively enveloped, quietly drifting in some far-off place.
I wanted to stay that way forever.

But we all know that what you want never really seems to happen in
the real world.

Something’s not right in Mia’s head.

The first thing is that her name isn’t Mia. In fact, she has no
clue what her name is—who she is. All that she knows is that she’s not like the
ones who found her: Dante with his kind blue eyes, Amy with her child-like
demeanor, James with his questioning gaze. And Briggs.

The one she cannot decipher no matter how hard she tries.

As Mia tries to fit in with these people, a strange occurrence is
amidst outside. And as she finally remembers who she is …

Well, let’s just say that things get a little more complicated.

excerpts
Have  you ever been in love, Mia?” I  just stared back at her.

“Because  I think I’m in love with …” she shuffled closer to me whispering, “James.”

It  was not like I had been expecting her to say Briggs.
“He’s  so gorgeous, don’t you think?” Her eyes lit up enthusiastically as she fiddled with her choker then twirled her hair between her fingers. “His hair is so long and silky … and you should hear him speak Japanese. It makes my toes curl, it’s  so lovely.”
Her  eyes caught my stare. “Say. Did anyone ever make your toes curl, Mia? It’s the  best feeling.” Her eyes widened. “I wonder what your mind’s been keeping from you,” she mused.

 I wondered that myself.

Can you provide us with a short history/bio on each of the main characters?

Mia

Waking up with no memory, Mia tries to find her footing in a world
unfamiliar to her. She doesn’t know much about herself, actually nothing at all,
except for the fact that she can’t talk. But she knows one thing: she’s not like
the rest. Her hair is auburn and her eyes are a mesmerizing green.

Dante

A kind, warm-hearted guy who likes to take care of the underdogs.
He lives with his sister and two friends when they stumble upon Mia in their
apartment, instantly taking a liking to her. Nobody knows, but there’s something
Dante’s hiding from everyone. His smile makes you want to smile in return, and
his eyes are alike to an ocean.

Amy

A free-spirit, Amy is the younger sister of Dante by one year.
She’s nineteen, her favorite color is pink, and she may have a slight obsession
with a boy named James. She’s addicted to reality TV and loves to bake. Her
favorite accessory is the black choker she can always be seen wearing.

James

The object of Amy’s affection and Dante’s buddy, he works as a chef
at a restaurant nearby with Dante. He’s the quiet one in the group but has a
silent inner strength which Amy finds quite addicting. He’s fluent in Japanese
and one day wishes to travel the world.

Briggs

The odd man out, Briggs is part of the group but also has his own
secrets. He’s distant and doesn’t trust the red-haired stranger that just
happened to land in his apartment living room. His profession is unknown and he is always wearing sunglasses, as if hiding his passionate, fiery nature.
Although sometimes he can’t help showing his point of view.

Secrets…They weigh you down. I’ve kept a secret all my life. It’s my
mother’s secret, too. I inherited it from her along with a unique ability that
only we possess. She’s gone now, another victim of addiction. If her death isn’t
enough to bring me to my knees, her betrayal flays me to the bone. Because the
secret my mother and I have been keeping is just one of many she’d kept. She
never told me I have an older brother. And now he’s here, eager to be my
guardian.

There is no one else. So I move across the country to live
with this stranger, my brother. But experience has taught me that most
situations are temporary and forming attachments only leads to hurt in the end.
That’s why I’m determined to keep to myself in this new place, struggling to
seem aloof while I’m quietly breaking apart.

Then I meet Lucas…

His magnetism is hard to resist, and most girls at school
aren’t resisting. I don’t fall so easily though, especially not for guys who use
their good looks as a weapon. From the start, our interactions are tense and
volatile. I know it’s because I’m denying the unwelcome desire that grips me
when he’s near. I think he feels it, too. He looks at me with an intensity that
threatens to unhinge my resolve. Soon he’s trying to break through the walls
that past hurts have built.

But I’m not what I appear to be, and it wouldn’t be fair to
get involved with him. At least that’s what I tell myself. Until a terrible act
of violence reveals that Lucas has a secret, too. It’s a secret that links us
together and ties us to an evil history I never could have imagined.

My Review

Keep You From HarmKeep You From Harm by Debra Doxer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review
This book was not what I was gone expect to be, and I am so glad that glad that I got read it, I felt in love with the characters and how this story has it twist.
Reading this book I have to say that it had me in an emotional roller coaster. I cried, laugh and it got me a little angry at some point but I love every single of it, I am gone keep this short since I don’t want to give anything away.
Keep you from harm this is the best title for this book because it’s exactly what this book is about.
The story starts with Raielle coming home from school, and finds her mother seating down in front of the kitchen table, that’s when her life change and that’s when she learns that she has a brother. now her brother Kyle has being trying to get custody of her for the last two years and now he finally have it, Kyle take Raielle back home and she finds out that she has a family that she never knew that she had.
Raielle was born with a gift or is it a cursed? This gift/ cursed runs in her family her mother and grandmother have it too. Now she is in a new place start in a new school and trying to stay away from everyone, except she can’t stay away from Lucas.
Lucas it’s hard to resist and most girls at school aren’t resisting him, he is good looking and he is only interesting in one person and that’s Raielle, but Lucas is also trying to stay away from her and his mood is always changing from hot to cold but he can’t not ignore the magnetism that is going on between them too.
I really liked it how this to fell in love and how they care for each other I love it how Lucas is always trying to protect Raielle and how he doesn’t give up on her and on what he feels for her, this is a beautiful story and I really enjoy it.
I want to thank Author Debra Doxer for introducing me to this amazing characters and this awesome book. And I hope that when you get to read it to enjoy it and love it as much as I did.

Genre: Contemporary
Age Group: New Adult
Cover reveal organized by: AToMR Tours; http://atomrbookblogtours.com

“Tattooed package of sin.”
That’s how Savannah Ryan would describe Declan Whitmore, the deliciously tatted and pierced fighter who holds the top spot in Veritas, Boston’s newest underground fighting organization. Declan is relentless when he sets his sights on someone, both in and out of the ring, and Savannah’s witty comebacks and tight little body have just landed her on his radar.

There are a couple of teensy problems, though. Declan just happens to be Savannah’s new boss, which normally wouldn’t have stopped her from sleeping with him, but this recently reformed bad girl is trying to go straight after heading down a dangerous path. It’s too bad that Savannah’s new road to salvation doesn’t include pit stops for hard muscles, a beautiful face, and the prettiest damn pair of green eyes she’s ever seen.
Declan’s used to getting any girl he wants, but turning over a new leaf means too much to Savannah. She’s not going to make this easy for him. Her jaded exterior has kept people out and held her secrets in for as long as she can remember, and that’s exactly how she wants it to stay. But as Declan gets glimpses of the real girl inside, vulnerable and afraid, he makes it his mission to tear down those walls and free her.
What if this tattooed package of sin is all the salvation she needs?

Will Gwen’s life be able to withstand even more turmoil, tears and blood?

Excerpts:

"God, I hate how fucking sexy you look. All you have to do is just stand there and I’m panting for you." Gwen said before smashing her lips to his again. He gently placed his hands on her hips but kissed her back with the same raging need. The elevator dinged and Gwen jumped back from him in case someone was waiting to get on. There wasn’t. It would’ve been obvious what they’d been doing anyway.
Cole yanked down on his jacket to straighten it before grabbing Gwen’s hand and pulling her quickly to the car. They both slipped into the back. As soon as the car door was closed, he pulled her into his lap, his hands in her hair as he kissed her hard.
"I’ve wanted to do that all day." Cole pulled her back to his lips so he could kiss her again. Their tongues mingled and danced as Doug drove them back to Cole’s apartment. Cole pulled back when both of them were breathing hard. He gently cupped her face and rested his forehead against hers, his eyes closed. "We can’t keep kissing. I’m already struggling to wait and this really isn’t helping."
Gwen gritted her teeth. She was so hot. Her panties were soaked and she wanted him so badly.

Wake Up Call

Wake Up Call Book Blitz Banner Synopsis
wake up call new 2My heart stopped and suddenly it was hard to breathe. His voice always had that effect on me. It was like poison slowly running through my veins killing me bit by bit. Like a drug that I couldn't get enough of even though I was almost down to my last breath.
Jace took a step forward and grabbed my hand. He slowly trailed his fingers over my face and backed me into the wall. My heart stopped again if that was even possible. "You can't leave," he whispered. "I need you." His warm breath kissed my lips as he bit his bottom lip and placed both of his hands around my face. They were warm and soft to the touch. Too big for my fragile face, although I wanted to bury myself in them. "Breathe. There is no one here but the two of us. Breathe," he whispered.

I took a deep breath, leaning against the back of the shower. Was it really that obvious? "I'm fine. I'm just tired and-" "You're not fine," he cut in. "And I can't promise that everything will work out for you, but I can promise you that I will be there to pick up the pieces if they don't." He stepped up to the shower and ran his hand over the curtain, his eyes glued to mine. "I keep my promises." My heart sped up, listening to his heavy breathing from outside of the thin curtain. Suddenly, thoughts of Jace naked and sharing a shower with me clouded my mind and it was the only thing that mattered at the moment. I not only needed him, but I wanted him. I couldn't deny that fact anymore. The only thing that had been stopping me before was that I was scared. Scared of hurting Jace or possibly even myself. "I care aboutŠ" Jace's words trailed off as I slowly opened the curtain and gazed into his beautiful eyes. He stood there looking shocked and confused as I reached out and grabbed his hand. I slowly trailed my fingertips over his hand, as I looked him in the eye. He was so beautiful. Inside and out. Not a word was spoken as he stepped into the shower, still wearing his briefs and placed his hands on my face. His hands trembled as he slowly ran a finger down to my lip and bit his own. "You're so fucking beautiful," he breathed. "I want you to be happy. I want to make you happy." My heartbeat skyrocketed and my legs became weak as he leaned in and pressed his tender lips against mine. His touch was so sensual and the taste of his mouth was sweeter than sugar, causing me to run my tongue over his lips to get a better taste. I watched, holding my breath, as the water dripped over his perfect body, soaking the briefs that he still wore. It turned me on. The whole room suddenly spun around us as my hands trailed over his bare chest, rubbing his smooth flesh, before resting on the outside of his wet briefs. The feel of his hardness made me moan. I felt my body start to shake uncontrollably as he gripped my wet hips and swung me toward the back wall with passion in his eyes. We both let out a low moan as he pressed me into the shower wall and roughly bit my bottom lip. "Are you sure that you're ready for this?" he questioned running his hands up my face. "Because once I start, I won't be able to stop."
