ENJOY YOUR STAY CARMEN
 Synopsis

The last thing Holly Harris expected was to wind up nineteen, knocked-up, and all alone. When Coop left to pursue his dreams of becoming a rock god, he left a tiny piece of him behind.
Holly wishes he hadn’t.
Jackson wishes he hadn’t.
Jackson Rowe tried filling the void his family left by drinking, screwing around, and leaving a string of heartbroken women in his wake. Moving back to Sugartown should have been easy, but he hadn’t counted on the fact his sometimes attraction to Holly would still be alive and kicking—and he sure as hell hadn’t counted on her being pregnant with another man’s baby.
They drive one another crazy, and yet they can’t stay away.
When old flames resurface, and even older wounds are torn open, can two people so similar make it work? Or will their stubbornness only drive them further apart?
*Content Warning. Intended for a mature 18+ audience. Contains angst, a crap-tonne of profanity, short-tempered Australian wildlife, and some very pregnant sex.

Excerpt

Jackson
Fuck.
The way she’s looking at me right now just makes me want to bend her over and impale her on my cock. I lean in and smell sex on her. Not sex, exactly, it’s just Holly’s sweet, sweet scent, but she’s definitely aroused, or has been. Fuck. If I get my hands on that little cock-sucking emo shit again I’m gonna throttle him for messing with my woman. And yes, I’m aware I just called Holly-fucking-pain-in-my-arse-Harris my woman.
Jesus Christ. How the hell did I dig the hole so deep?
I lower my lips to her cheek and whisper, “He get you off like old times, Hols?”
She pulls back and glares at me. “Fuck you, Jack.”
“My room or yours?”
“Very funny,” she snarls. “I need a shower.”
She stalks toward the bathroom, but I loop my arm around her shoulders and pull her back into me.
“No,” I whisper in her ear, and grind my Johnson against her arse, “you need to be fucked, sweetheart. Long, and hard, and merciless.”
She lets out a breathy moan.

“And I’m just the man to do it,” I say and start easing her back into my room. “Here’s the thing you don’t realise, Hols. That might be Coop’s baby inside you, but he couldn’t ever satisfy you the way I can. You need a man, darlin’, a man who’s not afraid to get under your skin and piss you off, and give you a damn good fucking hiding whenever you need it—not a boy who wants to dress up and play house. The only housekeeping you need is for you to be on your knees, cleaning my cock.” I whisper, as I trail kisses down her neck before gently pushing her back on the bed.

Prologue

Laurel
I needed to hold out to make it to Garrett’s penthouse. I could feel the walls closing in around me as a sense of heaviness invaded my body, weighing me down. My vision began to blur. My mind was reeling. Come on, just hold out a little longer. You can do this. You need to get to Garrett. His security guys probably see what a mess you are and he’s already on alert. He’ll be there for you. My mind wanted to argue the fact that I’d just pushed him away from me moments earlier, but I knew Garrett; once his mind was set on something he wanted, he wouldn’t give up easily. I just prayed the same held true for me. I hated to admit it, but I needed him now more than I ever had. He was the only thing going through my mind as Chase slammed in the walls and counter and as he pulled me down into the glass. Normally I’d have given up and just taken the beating, but I could hear Garrett’s voice encouraging me to fight, to move out of the past and focus on the future. I felt the weight of the frying pan still in my hand, reminding me how I finally got off a clean shot to Chase’s head and managed to run for it. Luck had been with me when my neighbor stepped off the elevator and the elevator doors started to close on their own. I had one shot at escape and the only place I could run was back into Garrett’s arms. As I entered the key code for the penthouse, I prayed he would still be there to catch me. Everything around me seemed to move in slow motion as the elevator opened on his floor. I know my feet moved, because my body was inching closer to Garrett’s shocked face. I could barely hear his words, “What the hell happened, Laurel?” I could almost focus on Thompson and Dillon running past me, one heading for the elevator, the other to the stairwell. I somehow managed to squeak out, “Chase.” Garrett’s arms were outstretched, but he wouldn’t touch me. Why? Help me! I wanted to scream. Hold me! Then the world seemed to go black and I could only hear him curse, “Fuck,” before feeling my body drop. I heard the clang of the frying pan hitting the floor. I expected my body to be next, but I felt the warmth of his arms encase me, pulling me close to his chest as he gently lowered me to the ground. “No, Laurel! Oh, God, no! Stay with me, baby. I’ll make sure we get Chase and make him pay for what he’s done.” His voice, normally so composed and controlled, was shaking and I felt moisture hit the sides of my face. Could he be crying? The man who was always in control of everything was actually crying! “Stay with me, love. I’ll make this right, just don’t leave me. I can’t take losing someone else in my life. I can’t lose you.” I tried struggling against the haziness of the darkness, urging myself to wake up so I could hold his hand, but no matter how hard I tried, my body seemed unwilling to do what my brain so desperately wanted, to soothe him, to reassure him I was still here, that I still cared for him. Time seemed to tick away as Garrett held me close. “Why couldn’t I have just followed you down?” he chastised himself. “Why didn’t I fight harder for you? You mean everything to me.” His voice was choked with emotion. I meant as much to him as he did to me? How could this be? We were always good in bed together, but he never expressed this level of emotion. The elevator dinged and I could make out the squeak of wheels and the drop of heavy bags onto the floor. “Thank God you’re here,” Garrett said, and I felt his body shift. “Someone attacked her in her apartment and she has low blood sugar. She’s crashing! Help her! Do anything you have to do, just save her, please!” The level of desperation in his voice was a straight hit to my heart, to my soul. I wanted to yell out, “I’m still here, Garrett! I can hear every word you’re saying!” but I could hardly feel my mouth to open it. “We need you to let go of her hand and get out of the way so we can help her, sir. The best thing you can do is give us room to do our job. We’ll do everything in our power to get her the help she needs.” “Garrett, please step away, let them do their work,” Thompson’s voice rang out. He must have returned with the paramedics. He never used his first name, why now? I heard the cracking of a voice and muffled tears. “She’s got a fiery spirit, much like yourself Garrett. If anyone can pull through this, she will.” Thompson’s voice was a little shaky, but his words seemed to settle Garrett, as the sound of tears halted. Garrett’s voice was laced with fear and emotion. “Did you catch—” The question was left open ended, but I knew who they were talking about. I strained my ears, trying my hardest to focus on their words. I needed to know if they caught the jerk who did this to me. “Now is not the time, sir. Your focus needs to be on Miss Hart, while mine will be on handling this bastard.” I’m sure Thompson didn’t expect me to hear the hushed tones in which he whispered, “I’ll update you more later; he had escaped the apartment by the time we got there.” He paused and I felt Garrett’s body stiffen. “The police already have issued an APB and we have every available man out there looking. I’ll stay behind to help with the crime scene and fill the police in on what we know. You go with your girl; take care of her, she needs you.” I felt a sharp stab to my finger and a number called out; it must’ve been the paramedic. “She’s at 40 and dropping. We need to start a glucose drip to get her sugars back up.” No wonder I can’t fight this haze; my sugars are too low. “Let’s get her in a neck brace and onto a back board. We need to transport immediately.” I felt strong hands move around me and my body being secured to something stiff. I couldn’t move; not that I could before, I guess. “Are you related to her, sir?” a different voice asked. “She’s my girlfriend. She means everything to me.” His voice broke on the last part, like he barely managed to get the words out. I’m his what?! Since when did I become his girlfriend? I’m not complaining, but an update would’ve been appreciated here. We were fighting up until… “We’re going to transport her to the hospital, sir. Did you want to ride up front with the driver or meet us there?” I felt the stretcher lift up and push towards the direction of the elevators. “My father, Dr. Waters, will be meeting us at the hospital,” I heard Garrett say, his voice a lot more confident than a moment ago. “I’d prefer to ride up front with the driver.” The voices were muffled for a while, but I felt his hand squeeze mine and the gentle brush of his lips across my forehead. “Please be okay, my love. You have no idea just how badly I need you in my life.” Somewhere along the ride to the hospital, my adrenaline rush began to fade and the pain of what happened started to take a toll on my system. “Her blood pressure’s increasing and her heart rate is up!” a voice called. Please, God, let me get through this so I can make things right with Garrett. I need to tell him that I forgive him, that I overreacted when I found out who he is. I need to tell him that I love him. I heard someone yell back over the radio to administer something and within seconds, I felt the coolness of the medication slip through the IV line. The pain was more tolerable, but the darkness finally had its way and pulled me under.

Excerpt
Suddenly, Anna grabs my arm, pulling me towards her. “Who’s that?” she shouts in my ear over the loud music. Looking over at the bar, I see the tiny blonde girl with pink highlights bending over it, holding herself up by her arms talking to David. He is smiling down, listening intently to her. When he replies to her, her entire face lights up and she kisses his cheek before dropping back down to the floor. I turn back to Anna and snort, “Probably the flavor of the week. That’s the same girl I saw him with at the mall and at Ruby’s yesterday. He’s no different than any other jackass we’ve met.” Anna watches the blonde head back to her table. “I don’t know Lyr, she didn’t exactly kiss him like a girlfriend would.” We watch as David walks out from behind the bar. Clapping the bartender that just arrived on the shoulder, he says something that makes the bartender laugh, and moves past him. Once he's lost in the crowd, Anna continues, "Maybe they're just friends or-" she cuts herself off looking at something behind me. I knew exactly what she was looking at. My entire body buzzes as I feel the heat of his body get closer. I turned slowly in my seat and raise an eyebrow at David, “Can I help you?” I ask snidely. He grins at me, “I just wanted to come over and say hi. It’s been busy in here tonight.” “I’m sure being a player is pretty time-consuming.” I glare at him, wanting nothing more than to slap that smile off his face. God, how could I have been stupid enough to fall for the “good guy” routine? Again! He frowns, looking confused, “I’m sorry?” Scoffing, I reply, “Yeah, you’re definitely sorry.” His eyes narrow dangerously, ”Look, I really don't understand what your problem is. I like you, you seemed to like me. Now you're just acting like a bitch. Excuse me if I don't get what you think I did." Unbelievable. When will I ever meet a guy who isn't a liar or a cheater? "You don't get it? Really? Well, let me spell it out for you. I don't date cheaters. I refuse to be 'that' girl, and I refuse to do that to someone else." "What the hell are you talking about?" He asks, his voice hard. I sigh, “I saw you with your girlfriend. I've seen you together a few times now." Is he really going to continue to deny it? I caught him with her! "How can you possibly see me with someone who doesn't exist? I am many things Princess, a cheater and a liar aren’t one of them." His voice is glacial. My mouth drops open, “You asshole! She was JUST here! Remember, she’s a short, skinny blonde with pink highlights?" Jeremy, who’s sitting next to us at the bar spits out his beer laughing, "Shit Dave, she thinks SB is your girlfriend? Now, that's disgusting. She'll love that!" "SB? What kind of name is SB?" I ask, raising an eyebrow as I look back at David. "SB is my sister SarahBeth's nickname. My baby sister. Not my girlfriend. She's practically my kid." David responds, glaring at me. Oh great. Now I really feel like a moron. Talk about jumping to the wrong conclusion. "Oh." "Yeah, oh. Princess, you really need to stop making snap judgments about me." He snaps. The look on his face makes me feel about two inches tall. But, this wasn’t my fault. If he’d told me about her, this never would have happened. Thinking about that makes me sound even bitchier. But that realization doesn’t stop me from saying, “Well, maybe you should be a little more forthcoming. You never said you had a sister." "Right, because that should be my intro. ‘Hi, I'm David, I own a bar, and have a sister I've been raising for the past 5 years.’ That's not going to raise any questions at all," he says sarcastically while rolling his eyes. "Raising?" I can't hide my confusion. She's his sister, why is he raising her? And how old is she? He sighs, "See what I mean? Yes, raising. Our parents died when she was 16 and I was 27. Jeremy" he nods at the guy next to us, "and I moved back to Nashville to take care of her. Our grandparents are in Florida and North Carolina, so to be with them she would have had to leave her whole life behind. After everything she'd lost, I couldn't take that away too, so I came back and have been taking care of her ever since." I can't believe he did that. He was a single guy, living on his own, and he chose to move back to his hometown and take care of his sister? "I'm so sorry. That must've been such a difficult choice to make." He shrugs, then glares at me again. "There was never a choice. She's my baby sister." After that statement, he turns on his heel and walks off. I'm beginning to think I've completely misjudged this guy.

About the Author
1472832_264185337076234_1706249932_n

I am a 32 year old wife and working mom to 3 boys, ages 15, 13, and 8! After spending the first half of my life in a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA, my parents moved my brother and I to another small town outside of Greensboro, NC. I moved to Hickory, NC after marrying my husband. We dated a total of three months before getting married, and we’d known each other for a total of six! People thought we were crazy, but 2014 marks our 10 year anniversary, so it obviously worked out! I’ve always been a huge book lover, even though I hated doing book reports in school! I could never figure out the main idea, but I could quote the book word for word. Back in 2012, I found Fifty Shades, and after staying up all night one Friday to read all three books, I was hooked! I started a book blog, and kept reading everything I could. Then, I found Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines, and couldn’t stop reading. My husband told me that I should write my own book since I was spending so much on Kindle books – by June, I’d read over 500! – and after blowing him off for a few months, I decided to try to write the story I kept seeing in my head. I had an idea for a story about a girl who’d been raised by her brother, but when I started writing, the brother of the main female kept taking over, to the point I was writing things in his POV instead of hers, so I shelved it, and started writing Save Me From Myself instead. I finally told a few fellow book bloggers about my story, and they started encouraging me to finish it, so here we are! It’s been an absolutely insane ride, and I can’t wait to share these characters with everyone!

Blog Tour Ransom by Denise Mathew

Ransom Blog Tour Banner

Synopsis

Two tragedies miles apart, a chance meeting, one running toward the truth the other running away. And in the ruins of devastation love grows… When one selfish choice leads to a lifetime of regret, twenty-year-old Lexie Adams struggles to survive in her new reality. Unable to move forward, she searches for answers and meaning in a tragedy that stripped her of the life she had once taken for granted. There’s nothing she wishes for more than a chance to go back in time, to change the fateful night that left her broken. Now faced with the stark truth that she needs to move forward, or be crushed by the past, she pins all her hopes and dreams on one person saving her, famed child faith healer and medium, Gabriel Sanders. Slippery handsome Ransom Sanders loves his brother Gabriel as much as he despises his domineering father. From as far back as Ransom can remember, his days have been an endless string of venues, hotel rooms, and cheap diner food, his nights filled with as many women as he can get into his bed. But when everything he has built his life on is ripped away, he searches for meaning in the chaos that follows . When a chance meeting pushes Lexie and Ransom’s paths together, neither of them can trust enough to be honest about their intentions and needs. But what begins as a Pandora’s box of secrets, lies, and deceit, soon becomes something much more than either Ransom or Lexie thought they could have. Where fate offers them a chance at something that is uniquely their own, a safe place where their broken spirits can be healed, and where love isn’t just a word, it’s a reality. 18+ for sexual content

I threw my arms around Lexie, hugging her to my body as tears from the past threatened to spill. I swallowed a few times doing my best to pull it all back in, forget about Ma, and the hell that had become my life after she had left me, left us.

Then our lips came together and I was kissing Lexie. Though I had kissed her  what seemed a lifetime ago, this time it was on purpose. No alcohol to dull my senses or anything that prevented me from knowing exactly what I was doing. As our lips moved together it felt like I was home, like I belonged with her.

Her mouth was cool on mine and she tasted of fresh air and something sweet. She sank her hands into my hair, tugging me even closer, kissing me deeper.

All I could think was how I needed her more than anything in my life. But what I wanted from her now was nothing like ever before. There was no animalistic need to take her, it was more than a desire for release, so much more. I had no idea what it felt like to make love to a woman, but for some reason that very thought traveled through my mind.

***** I received an ARC copy for an Honest review *****

First let me just say that this is the first book that I read from this author.

Wow ok so I just finish reading this book, and I love it I am so glad that I got the chance to read it, I really don't know where to start, their is so much going on in this book, their is pain, regret, guilt, drama, romance, the list will just keep on getting longer, I love it how this book is told from both point of view love the characters.

I love it how you get to read from where the characters had come from, and how you get to read the tragic that they both been through, before they finally get to meet and end up where they end up, and love it how you get to see how broken they both are but how they learn to love each other.

the story begging with Lexie having an argument with her mom, all cause her mom did not let her go to a party, after her mom told her that she was having a bad feeling and left for work, Lexie just ignore her and had her best friend Trinity to pick her up, once they got to the party Lexie started to feel guilty and started to hear her mothers words ringing through her head, after a while of being in the party Lexie had an embarrassed moment she decide to go wait for her mother to pick her up seating in Trinity car, what Lexie was not expecting was to be awaking with the news that would change her life for ever.

At the same time that Lexie was going through that in some other part of the country Ransom, was going through something different, after having sex with a stranger that he met at a bar, he got in to some fight with some local, that put him behind jail, into his friend Sanford got him out, what he was not expecting was for his father to be right behind him, and that same night after showing back up to the trailer that he shared with his younger brother Gabriel who suffer from arthritis, and has trouble walking, he had told Ransom that he put his father in his place told him that if he keep hitting him that he would stop the shows, Ransom was shocked by this news.

After that horrible night that Lexie and Ransom had One year Later their life just got more complicated. I really enjoy reading this book and I love it, I just want more of this story.
